Our Mission
Our Mission
We are an education nonprofit organization based in Mauritius
and our mission is to increase educational equity.
Our volunteers who are university students & recent graduates organize webinars to share advice on those topics: applying to university, choosing a field of study, financing one's education and moving to,
living and studying in a foreign country.
We also match secondary school students one-on-one with our volunteers for more specific advice related to say, a specific career path or study destination!

Hi! I am a recent Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering graduate from the University of Pennsylvania. The COVID-19 pandemic has taught me a lot including how much can be done through Zoom and since I now reside in Philadelphia, virtual tutoring and mentoring seem the best way for me to give back to our country during this crisis. Hence, Kestrel Peers was born! I am excited to see this support network grow and hopefully, last beyond the pandemic. Feel free to reach out to priyabhirgoo@gmail.com if you want to chat and stay tuned for more from us!
Fun Fact: I taught a 21 year old how to crack an egg.

Hello! I am a rising senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying Systems Engineering and pursuing a masters in Data Science. I am also very passionate about Indian Classical Dance (Kathak) :) This pandemic has redefined the way I study, live and interact with the people around me. Many of what we considered normal operations have been disrupted and our new normal after COVID-19 will probably look very different. Kestrel Peers is an initiative designed to leave a positive footprint by connecting people who can help with those who need it. I can’t wait to see what we achieve together!
Fun Fact: I didn’t know how to crack an egg until the pandemic.

I am a junior studying Urban Studies, Comparative Politics, and minoring in IDEAS (Integrated Design, Engineering and Applied Sciences) at Wesleyan University. I know Priya from the Youth Symposium for Mauritius network and somehow got dragged into this exciting project. I think school is hard. It is harder to study by oneself in confinement, yet it is important to do so all the time. I believe self-learning is at the essence of any meaningful education, and I consider schools as secondary resources. In the spirit of support and adaptability, Kestrel Peers encourage learners to be curious, rigorous, and analytical from a young age.
Fun Fact: I failed SC Chemistry.
